There is growing interest in the lineup of performing singers amid the talk of venue and schedule changes for the 'Jamboree' K-pop concert.
On the 8th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that one of the main events of the '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree,' a K-pop concert, will be held at the World Cup Stadium in Mapo-gu, Seoul, from 7 pm on the 11th.
This K-pop Super Live Concert was originally scheduled to be held outdoors in Saemangeum on the 6th, but it was moved to Jeonju on the 11th due to continued heatwaves and concerns about heat-related illnesses. However, the final venue was confirmed to be Seoul after the expected path of a typhoon passing over Saemangeum.
The concert was scheduled to feature dazzling singers such as IVE, ZEROBASEONE, NMIXX, STAYC, VERIVERY, etc. However, due to continued changes, the non-participation of NMIXX, VERIVERY, STAYC, etc., has been confirmed.
Through KBS's reporting and others, Newzins, ITZY, and NCT Dream have confirmed their appearances, and the situation is forming a 'glamorous lineup' with the addition of Mamamoo.
According to industry insiders, the possibility of additional cast members is also open due to the cancellation of KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' scheduled for the same day.
Meanwhile, regarding the K-pop concert, Sung Il-Jong, a member of the People Power Party, requested BTS's participation in the concert from the Ministry of Defense, causing strong backlash from the fandom.
Member Sung said, "I hope the Ministry of Defense will support BTS to perform at the World Jamboree, to elevate our national prestige," and called for action for the memories of the world's youth visiting South Korea. In response, some fandom argued, "BTS's complete participation should fully reflect each member's will. Using status to pressure the Ministry of Defense is anti-democratic," emphasizing that this was 'abuse of public authority,' and it has become a hot issue.
In connection, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism plans to reveal detailed plans, including the concert lineup, on the 9th.
